As Mexican regulars come pouring over the walls the defenders start to fall back to a more defensible position.

     

The Mexicans are in hot pursuit though and are on the heels of the fleeing rebels.

           
 

     

 

Mexican troops swarm towards the defenders.

     

Sweeping down the flank the Mexicans hope to cut the rebels off from a Howitzer on the wall.

           
       
  Undeterred by musket fire the Mexican lines march toward the rebels.     A Texan cannon cuts a swath through the advancing Mexicans .
 

   

  Both sides await reinforcements as they prepare for the assault on the barracks.     More Texans retreat to the barracks and catch the advancing Mexican flank.
     
 

Meanwhile the first wave of assault troops goes into the barracks

    Sweeping the walls the Mexicans cover their artillerists as they bring up a captured cannon.
     
  Mexicans try to clear the barracks before the Texans on their right can surround them.     The fighting on the flank becomes fierce.
     
  Wiping out the regulars on their right the Texans try to sweep the barracks clear. But Mexican reinforcements are pouring down the ramp from the walls.     The Mexican commander's view of the fighting.
     
  The Texans form a firing line to hold off the Mexicans from their comrades in the barracks.     Their brave stand becomes a catastrophe as the flag falls.
     
  The brave Tejano volunteers continue the struggle but are cut down by the vengeful Regulars who shout "Muerte a los traidores."     The Texans fight bravely, but it is not enough to overcome the Mexican numbers. Surrounded and exhausted the Texans succumb to the steel entreaties of their enemies.
