Hill Tutorial
In this tutorial we will show how you can make a ridge line with our new hex terrain blanks. This one was done with the 3" blanks but you could use any size, the techniques will be similar.

| Start by cutting sections of plastic out of a blister pack. These sections should be high enough that your intended elevated terrain should not reach the top. | Tape the plastic to the side of the terrain hex. If you are doing a hill that stretches over multiple hexes you will need to tape plastic to all of the sides. |

| Place the sections next to each other so that when you add the spackle you will be able to match up the height of the hill or ridge. | Spackle up to the desired height. Once dried the spackle will have some cracks in it. We elected to not fill these in as we thought the effect enhanced the rough look of the ground. They could easily be filled in with water putty or covered with more spackle if desired. | |

| Once the spackle has dried add an acrylic textured gel such as that made by Renaissance Ink. | Once the gel has dried begin by painting your hill sections in the desired colour. Once the initial colour has dried you can add some white or cream paint to the colour to high light the raised areas by drybrushing. | |

| The hill sections can be arranged in a number of different ways to create a variety of hills or ridge lines. | The sides of the hexes were painted with the original colour, along with the rest of the hex to eliminate the white colour. | |
