Large Cottage Tutorial

This is one way to finish the 25 or 28 mm scale Large Cottage. Look for other examples in the near future.

Start with a Large Cottage Building Blank.   Glue it together with wood glue and let dry.

Using patterned scissors (readily available in the scrapbooking section of craft stores) cut strips of thin cardboard to represent shingles. Glue them to the roof using wood glue, letting the ends of the strips hang over the edge of the roof.   Trim strips to size using scissors.

Cut out small rectangles of thin cardboard and glue them to various areas of the cottage. These will represent areas where the overlying plaster has chipped away, revealing the bricks underneath.   Cut popsicle sticks to size using scissors and glue them in the windows to represent window sills, and in the door to represent posts, lintel, and steps.
