Using scissors cut strips of thin cardboard to represent shingles. Glue them to the roof using wood glue, letting the ends of the strips hang over the edge of the roof. Alternately molded plastic shingle sheets are commercially available from a number of sources. |
Glue the Old West Facade onto the back of the cottage. The windows will not line up with holes in the Small Cottage. This is intentional as Wild West building will have larger windows than the cottages would. This will leave the door of the cottage open to provide a rear door for your building. |

For the siding on the building we will be using wooden coffee stirrers. Again sheets of molded plastic wood siding are commercially avaiable. |
Using wood glue stick the coffee stirrers onto the front and sides of the building. I will often cut them so that not every piece will be whole. This gives a more ramshackle look. |
