| Using spackle, build up an area on each of the tiles so that a rough gully is formed. | After the spackle is dry glue rocks, wood or whatever you want in your river to the river bed. Using an acrylic texture gel, such as that sold by Renaissance Ink, add texture to the banks of the river. This is easily done by applying it with a pallet knife. | |

| Here we have used crushed walnuts to make a ford. | After the gel has dried paint the area on the banks to resemble the surface of your table. | |

| Next paint the river and after that paint the rocks and other bits within the river. | After the paint is dry add a coat of Future Floor Finish to attain a shine that will make the water look like it is reflecting light. Sometimes a second coat will be necessary. | |

| You can use touches of white paint here and there to give the impression of waves and moving water. | Magnet was glued to the underside of each piece so that they can be anchored together on the table with metal bases. | |
