| Tape newspaper over the sides of the cottage to protect them. Spread glue over the roof. Cut 2 pieces of faux fur (available in our online store) slightly bigger than the roof, dip them into watered down white glue, squeeze out the excess glue, and smooth down on the roof. Straight pins can be pushed through the fur into the roof to help hold it in place. | The fur is going to look like a wet dog when you pull it out of the watered down glue. Use an old toothbrush to fluff the fur up and smooth it out so you get a good thatch look. Play around with it until you get the right look. If the fur isn't stiff enough yet, spray it with a couple coats of clear coat or hairspray. Remove the newspaper and trim the fur to size once dry. | |
